Bellway buy land, near College Road and The Creek in Northfleet, as part of Ebbsfleet Harbour Village development

The final piece of land has been bought to complete a 630-home riverside scheme.

Housebuilder Bellway purchased the land, which will make up the last stage of its Harbour Village development, from Ebbsfleet Development Corporation (EDC).

It is now finalising a planning application to build 65 homes on the brownfield site, at the junction of College Road and The Creek, in Northfleet.

Its initial proposals are for 24 one-bedroom and 38 two-bedroom apartments, and three three-bedroom houses.

If planning approval is granted, this will be the final stage of the development, which first started in October 2022, and bring the total number of homes at Harbour Village to 630.

Land director for Bellway Thames Gateway, William Weston-Smith, said: “This latest acquisition represents the final part of the Harbour Village landscape, and we are keen to move forward with plans for this important stage of the development.

“Our team is working on proposals that will regenerate this brownfield site and provide high-quality homes designed to fit in seamlessly with the surrounding development.”

The riverside regeneration project is on the site of the former Northfleet Cement Works which closed in 2008.

Harbour Village is part of the wider Ebbsfleet Garden City, which is expected to create up to 15,000 homes in the area with restaurants, bars, shops, commercial and office space, schools and community facilities.
