Heat from a chimney caused part of a roof to catch light.

Three fire engines were sent to the house in Prospect Grove, Gravesend, at around 3pm today.

Black smoke could be seen coming from the home after heat from the building's chimney caused part of the roof to catch light.

No casualties were reported, and the cause is believed to be accidental.

Crews are reminding people to always check their chimney is free from debris and in good structural order before lighting a fire.
