Fire crews were called out to a post office after a smoke detector had sounded the alarm.
The fire service was called to reports of smoke at the premises in Old Road West, Gravesend at 8.41am but the incident was ruled as a false alarm.
Two fire engines attended and on arrival, crews found no signs of fire and left the scene shortly afterwards.
A member of staff at the post office confirmed the call out had been triggered by a faulty fire alarm.
