Firefighters needed to wear breathing gear as they tackled a blaze on the second floor of a three-storey property in Gravesend.
It happened in Parrock Road at around 7.40pm.
Two fire engines were called to the scene and there were no reports of any injuries.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
