An investigation is under way into a fire which ripped through a Gravesend flat.

More than 20 firefighters from Thames-side, Swanscombe and Strood were called to the incident in Mackenzie Way just after 3am today (Friday).

They believe the blaze, which destroyed about half of the first floor property, was started deliberately.

Crews left the scene in the care of the police at about 5.45am.

No-one was hurt.
