Fire service issue warning after bonfire spreads to wooden pallets in Albion Place, Gravesend

Four fire engines were called to a blaze after wooden pallets caught alight from a bonfire.

Emergency services arrived at an industrial site in Albion Place, Gravesend, just after midnight this morning.

Crews equipped with breathing apparatus and hose reel jets spent around nine hours at the site to extinguish the flames and any remaining hot spots.

It is believed the fire started accidentally after a bonfire became out of control and spread to the wooden pallets.

The fire service have issued a warning after the incident.

A spokesman said: “If you’re planning on having a bonfire, make sure it’s a manageable size and positioned well away from any property, greenery or anything that could catch alight.

“Also, remember never to leave it unattended.”
