Firefighters were called to Gravesham Community Hospital to the aid of a seven-year-old girl who had got a toy ring stuck on her finger.
The crew used specialist cutting equipment to remove the ring from her finger just after 6pm on Saturday.
The girl, called Farah had been shopping with her mum at Asda in the town when she realised she could not get it off.
They went to the hospital’s minor injuries unit, but staff were unable to dislodge it.
Crew manager Lee Murphy from Thames-side Fire and Rescue said : "When we arrived she was quite distressed and her finger was going blue.
"But once we had got it off she was fine."
