Firefighters simulate a
rescue at Carl Ekman House

Firefighters from across north
Kent have been training together in an attempt to prevent
fatalities at tower blocks.

Crews from Thames-side, Dartford
and Strood fire stations met at Carl Ekman House in Tooley Street,
Northfleet.

The exercise was staged at the
14-storey residential building because of fears for firefighters
safety at high rise flats.

Fire crews were timed rescuing a
casualty and also tested hose reels and jets.

Gravesend reporter Jamie Bullen
joined the teams at a 9th floor flat to see how they
coped.
