It was a sharp learning curve for osteopathy student Elliot Reid when he started his therapy business from home.
Without any previous commercial experience and two months after graduating, he expanded to a shop front location setting up as Revitalize in Windmill Street, Gravesend.
Now in its second year, the company offers osteopathic care for injuries and pain, personal training and sports massage therapy as well as supporting the public by providing free health and fitness advice.
Mr Reid said: “Our services are supported by the most recent emerging research which means that every training session or treatment is as effective as possible, as well as being bespoke to that individual.
“We also take pride in our work with the community working with The Gr@nd health living centre in Gravesend – without taking pay – to improve health and fitness in the young and adult community.”
Personal training is also on offer at affordable rates undertaken at Bulks Gym, Gravesend.
A taster session is followed by a tailor-made fitness programme.
Revitalize regularly provides rehab programmes to semi-professional football players and has treated international athletes in the world of powerlifting and strongman.
Revitalize Health and Fitness Clinic is one of the entrants in this year’s Dartford and Gravesham Business Awards, which are supported by the Messenger. Each entrant gets a free profile in the Messenger newspaper and online.
This year’s award sponsors are Dartford council, Gravesham council, Barnes Roffe, Kent Business School (University of Kent), the KM Group (Dartford Messenger and Gravesend Messenger), Lloyds Bank, Thomson Snell and Passmore, and the University of Greenwich.
