FORMER Republic of Ireland defender Liam Daish has been appointed as the new manager of Gravesend & Northfleet FC.

Daish takes over at Stonebridge Road two weeks after the resignation of Andy Ford who had been in charge for eight years.

Club chairman Brian Kilcullen said: "Liam comes to us with an excellent football background."
