Florist Elise Hedges says there is nothing like waking up at 4am to get up to the London flower market.
It starts with the quiet roads, then walking through the market doors to loud music, people singing and dancing and just generally loving their jobs, even at 5am.
Having got a degree in digital photography, her first and only love has been floral design.
This prompted her to set up her own bespoke floral design company, Hedges and Flowers, based in Northfleet.
She says each design is personal and different just as every client is diverse.
A lot of time is spent prior to creating the actual design building up a client relationship.
The flowers are always representative of the client with the added individual style of Hedges and Flowers.
This personal touch has paid off with the firm now enjoying corporate London clients and the wedding diary has doubled for this year.
Elise said: “For most of my life I have had a desire to create aesthetically pleasing things.
“My style and aesthetic comes from my love for the earth and all of its natural beauty.
“This passion was deeply enhanced through my childhood spent along the south coast and I am often strongly inspired by the ever-changing seascape and coastline.
“Most of my photography work reflects my love for nature as many of my shoots incorporated flowers and foliage in one way or another.”
