A former bomb disposal expert denied attempting to murder his pregnant wife in a car explosion when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday.

Nicholas Fabian also denied causing his wife Victoria grievous bodily harm with intent and causing an explosion likely to endanger life or cause serious damage to property.

The 33-year-old, of High View, Vigo, admitted possessing 95 rounds of 5.56mm rifle bullets without a firearms certificate between January 27 and March 6.

Judge Andrew Patience QC fixed the trial, likely to last two weeks, for January next year. Fabian was remanded in custody.

Mrs Fabian, 32, suffered serious leg injuries in the incident in a car park in Vigo on March 5. Both her eight-year-old son, who was also in the car, and unborn child were unharmed.
