Four fire engines attended the scene of a blaze at a restaurant.
Crews were called to Shere Punjab, London Road, Northfleet, at 11.40am and currently firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are tackling the flames.
The building contains a ground floor Indian restaurant and three floors of flats.
Everyone was accounted for and firefighting operations were scaled down to two fire engines at around 1.30pm.
Crews spent considerable time locating hot spots using thermal imaging cameras and cutting away parts of the flat roof and ceiling inside the property make sure the fire was extinguished.
UK Power were also in attendance.
The owner of the venue did not want to comment when approached.
It is unclear what started the fire.
