As a result, there are four miles of queues backing up traffic on the M25.

The coast-bound section of the road remains partially blocked, with just one lane open now.

National Highways posted on social media advising motorists to allow extra time for their journeys, which currently has delays of up to an hour.

Police are currently on the scene after being called at around 4pm to reports of a three-vehicle collision.

No injuries have been reported.

A spokesman said: “A lane closure is in place while the Highways Agency clears debris from the road.”
