DETECTIVES are renewing their appeal for information about the murder of a 31-year-old man four years ago.

Officers are still looking for two men they believe may hold vital information in connection with the killing of Kamaljit Kalon.

Both men were well known within the Gravesend community at the time of Kamaljit’s death and both also have strong links with India.

Photographs of the men, Baljinder Singh Kooner, known as Jinder, aged 32 and Guljinder Singh Gurewel, known as Sukha, aged 30, were released in August 2004.

Kamaljit, who was known as Bobby, was stabbed in Gordon Promenade, off Commercial Road, Gravesend, on July 10, 2003.

He had gone there from his home in Sidcup to a pre-arranged meeting with some men he knew.

He left a widow, Ravinder, to whom he had been married for just two years. Mrs Kalon has three children by a previous marriage but Kamaljit was part of the family.

Det Ch Insp Anne Brittain, who is heading the murder inquiry, said: "The investigation into the murder of Kamaljit Kalon continues. This case will remain open until the individuals responsible are brought to justice.

"We would like the men known as Jinder and Sukha to come forward and speak to us, as we believe they have have information about what happened to Kamaljit.

"They were well known by many people in the community of Gravesend, and they also have strong connections with India. Although it is four years since Mr Kalon died, we remain determined to bring those responsible before the courts.

"We believe that someone in the community will know where the two men we are looking for are. Whether they are in this country or India, we need to speak to them and would urge anyone with information to come forward."
