A man is in hospital after being attacked by a gang.

The victim was assaulted in Parrock Street, Gravesend, just after 1am today by a group of men.

He suffered serious head and neck injuries and was taken to hospital where he is said to be in a stable condition.

Witnesses reported seeing the road cordoned off by police with a car apparently abandoned in the middle of the road.

Police are still hunting his attackers.
