Ebbsfleet's resurgence at the foot of the Blue Square Premier table continued with a fine 3-1 win away to Gateshead.
Fleet's first-ever visit to the International Stadium saw them race into a two-goal lead after half an hour.
Ricky Shakes got the first as he pounced on a rebound on 28 minutes, following a save from Magno Vieira's one-on-one with Gateshead goalkeeper Paul Farman.
Moments later Vieira was the man to get his name on the scoresheet, finishing off a Dean Pooley cross and notching up his 15th goal of the season.
The home side managed to reduce the deficit just before the break when midfielder Peter Winn found the back of the net on 41 minutes.
Fleet settled well after the interval and their persistence paid off on 65 minutes when Moses Ashikodi pounced on a loose back pass from Andy Ferrell. The frontman latched onto the ball while Gateshead defenders stood and waited for an offside flag that never came, before rounding the keeper to make it 3-1.
The result lifts Liam Daish's side up to 17th and leaves Gateshead just above the drop zone on goal difference.
