Young talented girls took to the pitch to help celebrate international women’s day.
Girls from primary schools took part in an annual football tournament at the Swanscombe Leisure Centre, in Craylands Lane, on Friday.
Now in its sixth year, the tournament for under 11s, is aimed at celebrating achievements of women. It is organised by Cllr Sue Butterfill and supported by Swanscombe and Greenhithe Town Council as well as sponsorship from the Football Association and Swanscombe Tigers Football Club.
Two schools claimed joint first place – Bean Primary School and The Gateway Primary School in Dartford – who tied during their match.
The youngsters were watched by the Mayor and Mayoress of Swanscombe and Greenhithe, Cllr Bryan Read and Cllr Ivy Read, and other councillors.
Youngsters from other schools who took part included pupils from The Craylands School, Manor Community Primary School, The Brent Primary School and Stone St Mary Church of England Primary School.
