International 400m gold medallist Iwan Thomas will officially launch the Gatorade 10K run at Bluewater tomorrow with a challenge for other runners.
Iwan has run 400 metres on a treadmill in a time of 48 seconds and tomorrow (Tuesday) he'll be asking people to try and beat that time.
It is one of a number of interactive events he'll be hosting. He will also offer advice and answer any training questions ahead of the race on Sunday June 5.
The fastest 400m times of tomorrow will win an exclusive prize including free entry to the Gatorade 10K, adidas products, Gatorade goodie bag including the hydrating drink, a personal warm up and lunch with Iwan on race day plus other Bluewater treats to enjoy after the run.
During the launch, which runs from 12pm - 6pm, you can also sign up to the Gatorade 10K and - courtesy of organisers Sweatshop - enjoy a complimentary sports massage. Gatorade and Sweatshop will also be giving away athlete bags to the first 200 people who sign up.
Iwan will be will be in the lower mall, outside Marks and Spencer, 12pm–3pm.
This year the Gatorade 10K at Bluewater is celebrating its fifth anniversary and hopes to attract more than 4,500 participants, from serious competitors to fun runners.
The race will start and finish at Bluewater taking runners around the lakes and parkland surrounding the centre and then onto Greenhithe and Stone.
There is also a 2K run and the official race village, located near the start line, will have plenty of entertainment and music for everyone to enjoy.
Bluewater is hoping to exceed last year's £25,000 raised for local charities; DGSM Your Choice and the Dartford and Crayford Sea Cadets.
