A Gravesend cabbie has been cleared of running a mobile brothel in the back of his taxi.

Rick Davis spent months under police scrutiny after allegations he was allowing a prostitute to work in his taxi while filming it on CCTV before posting footage on the internet.

The 56-year-old denied the unfounded claims and said there “is no way in a million years I would do something like that”.

Vindicated Mr Davis said he has no idea who made the malicious allegations and added: “All I know is that they put me, my family, and friends through hell for nothing."

He faced months of uncertainty and financial struggle after police impounded his taxi in June this year and quizzed him over the alleged offence.

His cab was held for 14 weeks while investigations were carried out, and Mr Davis says the police have still not returned the £800 hard drive from his cab’s CCTV system.
