Gravesend moved up to fourth place in National League 3 London & South East with a 19-7 victory over Staines on Saturday.
Gs made it two wins out of three despite losing Adam Bishop (broken leg) and Gary Gray (thigh) in midweek training to add to the loss of influential Dave Dorton to a broken leg last weekend.
However they trailed 7-5 at half-time, with Michael Forster converting his own try for Staines before Terry Papworth replied with an unconverted try for Gs.
Papworth then added his second try as Gravesend, now playing with the breeze at their backs, took control and Josh Smith kicked three penalties to round off a solid 15-man performance from Gs.
This Saturday Gravesend are at home to joint-leaders Dorking.
