Head coach Paul Hathaway was a happy man after Gravesend achieved the second of his two targets for the season by retaining the Kent Cup.
Gs, who finished sixth in their first season in National League 3 London & South East, scored a thrilling 34-32 success over Tonbridge Juddians in the county final at Canterbury.
Hathaway said: "Before the season started, we set ourselves two targets, to finish in the top half of the league and retain the Kent Cup and I’m pleased that we have managed to achieve both of them."
Sunday’s final developed into a highly-entertaining game.
Hathaway added: "Both sides were nervous early on which was understandable given how much was at stake.
"But we tightened up in the second half and the experience we have gained from the greater physicality required to compete in a higher division this season stood us in good stead."
