Tamera Foster sounded, looked and acted the part as her performance saw her through to the next stage of The X Factor.
The teenager from Gravesend, garnered high praise from judges and booked herself a spot on next weekend’s episode of the ITV singing contest.
The theme of this week’s show was movie night and Tamera performed ‘Listen’ by Beyonce from the film Dreamgirls.
The 16-year-old’s rendition of the former Destiny’s Child singer’s ballad went down well with judges, but not all were swooning over her stagecraft.
Louis Walsh said: “You stole the show totally, you’ve got this thing called star quality.”
While fellow judge Sharon Osbourne said that Tamera had “everything” going for her.
Ex-Take That member Gary Barlow was more critical of the North West Kent College student.
Gary said it was an “amazing vocal performance” but wasn’t impressed with her mannerisms.
He said: “This show is called the X Factor. There was elements of that performance that reminded me of Stars in Their Eyes. You’re not a Beyonce impersonator.”
Nicole Scherzinger stood up for her act and said she had “balls” to pick such a big song and called her a “doll to work with.”
Tamera is the bookies favourite to be outright winner of X Factor with Ladbrokes and Bet 365 putting her down as 6/4 to take home the crown.
