People in Gravesham feel their lives are the least worthwhile in the UK, according to a national survey - but they are pretty happy about it anyway.
In the latest national well being survey, carried out by the Office for National Statistics, people were asked "overall, to what extent do you feel the things you do in your life are worthwhile?"
The average in Gravesham was just 7.26 out of ten, a feeling of pointlessness outstripping even Corby.
This is in sharp contrast to last year's survey, which found the district was the happiest in Kent.
But it's not all bad news for Gravesham - despite feeling things are just not worth it, people are still happier than neighbouring Dartford, the unhappiest place in Kent.
However, Dartford residents do at least feel their actions have some meaning.
Not as much meaning as those in Sevenoaks mind you - in Sevenoaks, people know their actions count - they scored 8.15 out of ten when asked if things are worthwhile.
This might help explain why the district tops Kent for life satisfaction, also at 8.15 out of ten, and overall happiness at 7.77 out of ten.
It's a sharp contrast to Dover district where life satisfaction is lowest, at just 7.38 out of ten, and unhappiness is second only to Dartford, at 7.18.
And spare a thought for worried Thanet, which leads the way on anxiety levels with 3.27 out of ten.
Despite their unhappiness, people in Dartford do sleep easy as the least anxious place in Kent, at 3.52 out of ten.
