Ebbsfleet gave manager Liam Daish the perfect response as three first-half goals defeated Grays in Blue Square Premier on New Year's Day.

Daish, pictured, did not hold back following his team's defeat at Hayes on Monday but they completed the double over Grays to move to within a point of safety.

Peter Holmes gave the Fleet a seventh-minute lead when his long-range effort deceived home keeper Preston Edwards.

Magno Vieira continued his fine form by adding the second seven minutes later and Ricky Shakes converted the third before half-time.
