A grieving pet owner is desperately appealing for information after her 17-week-old kitten was stolen and hurled from the window of a speeding car.
Binx, who had only been out of the house three times, was taken from Southfields Green, off Gravesend's Singlewell Road, at between 10am and 11am on Saturday.
Owner Nicole Curtis, 22, spent the day searching for her beloved cat and posting on social media.
The following morning she was contacted by a woman who had witnessed little Binx being thrown from a Toyota Corolla which was travelling at 80mph along the A2 near the B2000 turn off at 7.30pm on Saturday.
She said: "I looked absolutely everywhere. It's so strange as my road is a closed cul-de-sac and he had only been out twice before and even then didn't go beyond the boundary of my house.
"It wasn't until the following morning I got the call. They must have been driving around torturing him all day.
"It all happened so fast they couldn't get more details of the car. They stopped as did others to help Binx.
"The lady went to take him to the vets but it was too late. She actually buried him before seeing my post online. I just have no idea who could do this?"
The mother-of-one is now raising £500 which she will then offer in exchange for more information on who is responsible for the sickening act.
She added: "I've informed the police but they can't take it further without more details. Highways England says it will try and get CCTV to help us find who did this. The RSPCA told me this happened to two dogs on the M25 last week. It's sickening."
To make matters worse Nicole, a carer, has spent the last day in hospital with 18-month-old son Tommy who has a chest infection.
She said if no one comes forward the money will be donated to The Shruberry Vets, Perry Street, who offered her support when she took Binx's body there to get scanned.
Kent Police spokesman Sally Smith confirmed they had received a report of the kitten being stolen and urged anyone with information to call the appeal line on 01474 366 149 quoting reference XY/38345/18. Alternatively call Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
