A woman and two men have been arrested after an "horrific" crash which left a man fighting for his life in hospital.
The 56-year-old man remains in a critical but stable condition after the suspected hit and run collision in London Road, Gravesend, on October 25.
A police spokeswoman said: "A 24-year-old woman, 43-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, all from Gravesend, have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody."
The victim, who was said to have suffered terrible injuries, has been treated in a London hospital since the crash.
It is believed he was crossing at the Thames Way junction of London Road at around 7pm when he was struck.
Emergency services were called to the scene, close to Aldi supermarket, and officers diverted traffic away from the area while paramedics treated the man.
A London Road resident, who saw the aftermath, said he was surprised the man survived the crash.
He said: “We were indoors when the police knocked on the door and asked if we knew where the car had been dumped.
“We went outside to have a look and saw an area had been cordoned off.”
The man, who did not wish to be named, said forensic officers were going over the vehicle for around two hours before it was taken away.
He said: “The car looked like it was smashed up to 2ft deep on the top.
“The man has probably broken every bone in his body. I don’t know how he didn’t die – the damage was horrific.”
