Youngsters haven't let the closure of their gymnastics club stop them bending over backwards to raise money for a good cause.

Members of Meapa Gymnastics in Gravesend have been taking part in online sessions to raise money for the NHS.

Following the closure of their club in Cedar Avenue, staff began coming up with inventive ways to keep their budding gymnasts fit.

The club's director of coaching Yuriy Zhovtyuk, said: "As well as our online sessions, we decided to do some fundraising sessions for the NHS.

"We had four sessions, with up to 200 gymnasts joining in on those four sessions of family exercises and at the end we made a dance video.

"So far, we have managed to raise £1,800."

The club has been offering a regular scheme of online activities for its members to take part in.

These have included conditioning and stretching classes, talks with psychologists and Team GB gymnasts including Amelie Morgan, who has represented the UK at the Youth Olympics.

Those running the club are looking forward to opening their next facility in Rochester, which was due to open next month, but has been delayed.
