Ebbsfleet United's New Year celebrations ended as a damp squib on New Year's Day after their game at Hayes & Yeading was washed-out after 20 minutes.
The Blue Square Bet Premier Division clash kicked-off in atrocious conditions at Kingfield but Fleet's travelling fans were warmed by a superb sixth-minute free-kick from Michael West (pictured) which flew into the top corner from an acute angle.
With pools of standing water on the pich and increasingly difficult playing conditions, tackling became treacherous and the hosts saw Corey Gameiro sent-off for a two-footed lunge on Craig Stone after 11 minutes.
After consultations with both managers and captains the game was brought to a halt by the referee on 20 minutes and supporters were issued refunds.
A date for the rearranged game has yet to be decided.
Fleet are now without a league game until their trip to York on January 21 and out of action entirely until their FA Trophy game on January 14.
