A 20-year-old man has been charged with driving a motor vehicle without insurance in Northfleet.

Officers pulled over the vehicle on Hall Road as part of a routine check but having stopped the vehicle, the two occupants of the car fled the scene sparking a helicopter hunt to find them.

Calvin Lumedo was arrested at 3.55am on Monday morning in Mitchell Avenue but the passenger was not found.

Lumedo of Mearns Place in Chelmsford, in Essex will appear before Medway Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 13.
