Ebbsfleet Development Corporation (EDC) have detailed a series of consultation events taking place this month for local residents to have their say on the new garden city.
Business and community leaders from Dartford and Gravesend are also invited to attend and share their ideas for Ebbsfleet’s future.
You can drop-in to The Hive Library in Northfleet from 2pm to 5pm or Dartford Central Library from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday, with further opportunities at Swan Valley Library from 10am to 2pm on Saturday and from 10am to 5pm at Bluewater on Sunday.
EDC board members will be in attendance to answer your questions and respond to any concerns you might have. You can also complete an online questionnaire at ebbsfleetdc.org.uk.
Brandon Lewis, Minister for Housing and Ebbsfleet, said: “I’d encourage all local residents and businesses to take part in the events being put on by EDC to ensure their views are heard for developing the Masterplan.”
“We want to see a real step change in pace of delivery and design quality that will help create a healthy and sustainable community.”
The events come after George Osborne pledged £310m to the garden city development in his Autumn Statement last month; an increase from the initial £200m announced in April 2014.
The corporation say the additional funding will allow for superior community infrastructure, more employment opportunities, a range of low cost homes and perks like high speed broadband for homes, schools and businesses.
“This has been a very positive time for Ebbsfleet Garden City and for North Kent,” said EDC chairman Michael Cassidy.
“The Autumn Statement has given Ebbsfleet Development Corporation the opportunity to begin development of our new Garden City.”
“Enterprise Zone Status will encourage inward investment in North Kent and investors will benefit from existing high speed rail connections at Ebbsfleet International Station.”
“I’m delighted to be working closely with Government, local partners and the development industry on this pioneering project of national importance.”
