Petrolheads can sit back and take a drive down memory lane in a classic Porsche, Maserati or Volkswagen Golf with the opening of a new car club.
The GT 100 Club, based at Ebbsfleet Business Park, Northfleet, gives members the chance to get behind the wheel of some of the world’s most desirable vehicles.
It was set up a year ago after enthusiasts Bob Baker, David Hayes and Mark Donovan pooled together their classic cars.
The trio are aiming to provide members with a flash of nostalgia alongside style and comfort.
The vehicles on their books include an Aston Martin DB7 Vantage, an Audi Quattro 20v and a Maserati Shamal – one of only 369 worldwide.
Mr Baker, the firm’s managing director, said: “The next car I want to buy is a Ford Capri because that’s what my dad took me to school in.
“They are your memories and these cars are our classics.
“I want people to enjoy the moment. Often people’s weekends are mapped out in advance or they have too many responsibilities. We all take life so seriously, so this is a way of bringing enjoyment.”
Mr Donovan said: “You can see what it feels to be like James Bond for a day.”
Membership is not cheap – it starts at £1,000 – but the team says they are “cars to make you smile”.
There are one-off packages for corporate days or even a lift to the ceremony on your wedding day, or longer-term deals for those who want to get behind the wheel of their dream car more often.
Many of the cars are limited editions acquired through private deals. One vehicle was even owned by German businessman Uwe Gemballa, who founded a company which offers high-performance tuned cars, mainly Porsches.
Members can hire a vehicle for a day or weekend in exchange for points which are paid for.
