Home Secretary Suella Braverman met with police in Kent to discuss efforts to tackle violent crime against women.
Ms Braverman was at Kent Police headquarters in Northfleet yesterday to meet the force's temporary chief constable Tim Smith and Kent’s Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Scott, who tweeted about the visit.
Mr Scott said: "The Chief Constable and I were pleased to welcome the Home Secretary @SuellaBraverman to Kent.
"We discussed the Force response to violence against women and girls and the efforts being made to improve investigations and outcomes.
"We also had the opportunity to discuss recruitment, mental health incidents and victim services."
The Home Office refused to comment on the visit.
Kent Police said the visit included a demonstration of the force's Rapid Video Response, by which victims of domestic abuse can speak via videolink to a specialist officer.
