Police say a bus driver is blameless after a woman was struck while attempting to cross a busy road, an inquest heard.
Anthony Field was behind the wheel of the 480 Arriva bus when Marcela Petrasova walked in front of him.
The 44-year-old Slovakian national was pronounced dead soon after the collision.
Police say there is no blame attached to Mr Field, who was carrying 25 passengers at the time of the incident.
PC Mark Chapelhow read out a witness report containing details of the incident.
He said: "I have determined that the driver of the vehicle would not have had sufficient time to react by the time of the collision."
Mr Field described passengers as "visibly upset" after asking them to leave the bus while he checked on Mrs Petrasova.
A driver for nearly 40 years, he said he was travelling at 15mph when he pulled away from the bus stop near the Iceland supermarket in September.
Investigators say Mrs Petrasova was facing the other way at the time she began to cross the road.
The inquest also heard evidence she was using her mobile phone at the time but police refuted that claim.
Her husband Arpad Petras said he couldn't accept Mr Field was blameless for his wife's death.
He said: "I have seen the video [of the incident] and in my opinion ... I think it was the fault of the driver. He just did not see her, in my opinion."
But PC Chapelhow maintained there was no evidence to suggest fault by Mr Field.
Coroner Roger Hatch ruled the death was caused by a road traffic collision. He also accepted the driver was not at fault.
