New images have been released of a primary school planned as part of the 598-home Cable Wharf development in Northfleet.
Cable Wharf Primary School will serve the new estate in Crete Hall Road, which is part of Ebbsfleet Garden City, and will also take over from the current Rosherville Church of England Academy.
Plans submitted to the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation state: "The new building will integrate the school into the masterplan principles providing a new civic building and public square at the heart of a new community.
"It will provide modern facilities for the teaching of current curriculum and comply to current building regulations for thermal comfort, sustainability, acoustics, and daylight.
"Upon completion, Rosherville Church of England Academy, 1-form entry primary school, currently located along London Road, Northfleet, will be moving to the new school. The school will incrementally expand to a 2-form entry school, with pupils from the new homes at Cable Wharf."
Rosherville Church of England Academy is one of ten schools operated by the Aletheia Anglican Academies Trust, and is located immediately southwest of the development site.
Designed as a small community school,it is currently housed in a single-storey Victorian building, which is said to be both not large enough and difficult to heat, while some classes are held in temporary buildings.
