Boyzone star Shane Lynch is heading the cast at this year’s pantomime at the Woodville.
As part of the world famous Irish boy band, Shane has been a household name for 20 years, and has just finished the UK leg of the band’s 20th anniversary arena tour.
It was Shane who originally took the idea of Boyzone to producer and X Factor judge Louis Walsh, and the band has since sold more than 25 million records worldwide.
Last year, Boyzone released a new album, and had their own 20th anniversary ITV special.
Shane and Boyzone will continue to tour the world throughout 2014.
But at Christmas, he will be heading to Gravesend to play villain Abanazar in the panto Aladdin.
Aladdin opens at the Woodville on December 13 and runs until January 2015.
It is supported by the Messenger and Specsavers.
The Woodville and producers Magic Beans Pantomimes are looking forward to a great show.
Theatre manager Neil Chandler said: “We are very excited to have some famous faces in the pantomime at the Woodville this year. More casting will be announced in June.”
Away from the band, Shane came fifth in the 2013 series of Celebrity Masterchef, and has appeared in numerous other TV shows, including The Games, Love Island, and Cirque De Celebritie.
He recently made his own documentary about Dyslexia for Channel 5, and was the subject of a celebrity special episode of The Jeremy Kyle Show.
Shane loves appearing in pantomime and played the role of Abanaza at The Stag Community Arts Centre, Sevenoaks, at Christmas 2012.
In 2011 Shane played Prince Charming in Cinderella in Southport.
