A CAT-lover who rescued an injured moggy and nursed it back to health is appealing for its owner to reclaim it.
Antonia Huelin, 66, from Cross Lane East, Gravesend, found the cat as she was driving home about seven weeks ago.
She said: “The car in front of me had stopped and I could see a man moving something to the side of the road with his foot. When I got out I saw it was a cat that looked as though it had been run over.”
Despite its forlorn and virtually lifeless appearance, Mrs Huelin, who has two cats of her own, took pity on the creature and took it home with her. “I didn’t expect it to survive the night but when I came downstairs the following morning she greeted me as soon as I opened the door,” she said.
Since then Bubbles, as Mrs Huelin affectionately calls her, is back to full health and has even surprised her new carer by giving birth to a litter of kittens.
“I’d be sorry to see her go but she belongs with her rightful owner,” Mrs Huelin said.
