Karma nightclub in Gravesend High Street has shut down.
A sign appeared on the door of the club, which only opened in January, from bailiffs based in Essex saying the right to occupy the premises has been “brought to and end and the premises has been secured”.
A string of celebrities mingled with revellers when it had its official opening in February including actor Danny Dyer, Scott Maslen, otherwise known as Jack Branning from EastEnders, former Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas and reality star Joey Essex, from The Only Way is Essex.
Posting on Facebook, club owner Kevin Pearton said the landlord had taken back the lease making it "impossible" to continue trading.
He said: "We are currently looking in to moving our brand to another venue in town, so watch this space.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you, our loyal customers for making the time we were open for a great laugh."
A second business is closing down in Gravesend today.
High Street News is packing up and clearing their shelves this afternoon.
Loretta Palioniane lost nearly £20,000 when her business went bust.
She said: “We couldn't afford to pay the bills and now we have to sell everything for less than half of what we originally paid for it.
“Our family were working here for free, but we still can’t afford to keep it going.”
The shop has only been open for three months.
"This council make it too easy for anybody to open a shop. Now the town is full of cheap pound shops and small independent business can’t compete,” she added.
