Sky drama Temple featuring Mark Strong features locations in Gravesend

Locations around Gravesend will feature in the new season of Temple airing on Sky Max and NOW.

Popular film location Nell's Café along with various sites around the town were used for filming season two of the show - which follows a surgeon who sets up an illegal medical research facility underneath Temple Tube Station to find a cure for his dying wife.

Written by Mark O'Rowe the show is based on Norwegian drama Valkyrien, and the British series stars actor Mark Strong playing the lead role as Daniel Milton, alongside Daniel Mays, Carice van Houten and Rhys Ifans.

Various scenes were filmed in and around Gravesend, including road scenes at Batts Road, Cutters Ridge Road and Buckland Road and a sequence at Nell’s Café.

The café at Marling Cross off Watling St is an established filming location, used in a number of previous series, including Killing Eve (2018) and In the Long Run-Series 2 (2019).

Other previous productions to film in and around Gravesend include Smithereens, Black Mirror Season 5 (2019) and Top Boy Series 3 (2019).

Temple is produced by Hera Pictures and directed by Christopher Smith.

The first episode was aired last week and it continues every Thursday at 9pm with the entire series available as a box set.
