A 52-year-old man has avoided jail after being caught with a knife in public by police.
Officers were called to Milton Road in Gravesend last month following reports a man was carrying a bladed weapon.
Zbigniew Winiarski was located and detained in connection with the report five minutes later.
He was later charged on suspicion of carrying a knife in a public place.
Winiarski was released on bail to attend Medway Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday where he was handed a suspended sentence for 24 months and an electronic curfew for two months.
He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a victim surcharge of £128.
