Liam Daish has warned that Ebbsfleet will face a season of struggle unless much-needed squad additions arrive.
The Fleet boss (pictured) is chasing defensive cover ahead of this weekend’s match against Fleetwood.
Daish’s side have battled well so far since their return to the Blue Square Premier but with the winter months on the horizon he knows he needs back-up.
He said: “It is tough with our numbers and we haven’t got too many options.
“We’ve been without two of our recognised centre halves and that’s not ideal but we are getting on with it. We’ve no other options.
“We’ve been chasing a defender but last week the deal didn’t suit us. We’re hoping we can do something this week.
“A new signing wouldn’t just boost me but it would boost the players. They can see we are down to the bare bones and they need help. Hopefully we will get it this week.
“Looking at it we are so light and when you see other clubs with their resources it will be a struggle right through.
“It is a worry for me and my staff and hopefully it’s a worry for everyone.
“We will keep sticking at it though and keep getting as much as we can from everyone. We’ve always got by and that will be the same unless something changes.”
