Bad memories of a nightmare away day can be erased when Ebbsfleet host Hereford on Saturday in the FA Trophy.
The Fleet’s coach broke down on their way to Edgar Street for a league fixture in August. After a late kick-off, Liam Bellamy was then sent-off and Hereford went on to win 4-2.
Ebbsfleet manager Liam Daish (pictured) said: "We didn’t give ourselves a good showing, which had a lot to do with our preparation, the coach breaking down and a horrendous journey. Hopefully we’ll put on a better showing on Saturday.
"It’s a difficult tie but we’re at home for a change, which is good. This is a good trophy for non-league sides. We’ve got good affections and good memories of the FA Trophy and we’re looking forward to it."
Since their Wembley triumph in 2008, the Fleet have only once failed to go beyond the first round.
Daish is hopeful 15-goal striker Nathan Elder will be fit after picking up a knock in the final moments of the win at Macclesfield.
Louie Soares has been recalled by Grimsby but Matt Godden (illness) should return for the Fleet.
