Liam Daish has warned long-term Blue Square Bet South leaders Braintree Town that his Ebbsfleet United team will not give up on their chase.
The Fleet boss pits his side against relegation-threatened Boreham Wood at Stonebridge Road on Saturday, determined to shake off the disappointment of Tuesday’s defeat at Woking.
Fleet are second in the table, seven points behind Braintree and Daish (pictured) said: "I don’t think anyone expected us to be where we are at the start of the season and credit to the players for that.
"They gelled quickly and they’ve been working for each other. People just have to remember not to take this for granted and I’m sure they won’t. We’ve got something to build on now.
"We just have to keep bubbling along tucked in behind the leaders and we’ll keep asking questions of Braintree and hopefully push them all the way. At this level anything could happen. We’ll fight until the end and hopefully we’ll have enough and can achieve something this season."
Boreham Wood may be sitting close to the relegation places but Daish knows the battle will be on this weekend.
He added: "They’ve brought in a few new faces to try and address the situation and changed things around. The lads have proved they don’t get complacent and we’ve got great ability in the camp."
