Ebbsfleet boss Liam Daish says he is mystified by the club’s indifferent home form, but says it could be down to knowing their own Stonebridge Road pitch too well.
Fleet head into the Easter programme still not guaranteed of Blue Square Bet Premier survival, with Good Friday’s trip to Forest Green Rovers followed by a home date against Braintree on Easter Monday.
Three points out of the last 15 at home is a poor return, and Daish (pictured) said: "I have no idea why we are struggling, although I don’t think the surface is helping us, and that is not meant as a criticism of anybody.
"The onus is on us to get the ball down, and open teams up at home, but it’s a bit lively and bobbly at the moment, and that is down to the amount of games that are played on it. We also train on it, and are too familiar with it, we know it inside out."
Fleet’s two Easter opponents are both safe. Forest Green have pulled clear of danger, and now sit comfortably in 10th place, while Braintree are also safe, two places and four points behind the men from Gloucestershire.
Daish said: "Forest Green have had great results against Luton and Barrow.
"We have to look for more of an end product in our play, get in a shot or a cross and make sure we get something for all our hard work."
