Liam Daish has challenged his Ebbsfleet players to carry the momentum of Tuesday’s exhilarating draw with Luton into Saturday’s crunch clash at AFC Telford.
Two Michael West goals – the second a sublime stoppage-time equaliser – earned the Fleet a priceless point against the much-fancied Hatters in front of a bumper crowd of 1,651 at Stonebridge Road.
Fleet boss Daish (pictured) was thrilled by the comeback but admitted it would count for little unless backed up by another positive result against Telford.
"Out of the two games – Telford and Luton – Telford’s probably the bigger game," he said. "Luton takes care of itself, regarding the crowd, playing against an ex-League side but Telford’s a different kettle of fish. It’s away, they’re not right up there – it’s a real big game.
"The lads have got to take more than a point out of Tuesday. They’ve got to take confidence that they can compete and make sure they remember what got them back into the game after being 2-0 down."
Striker Jamie Darvill, who signed for Ebbsfleet in time to face Luton, could keep his place for the trip to Telford, while Charlton loanee Yado Mambo is also available after the defender’s deal was extended by a month. Darvill, a product of the Fleet’s youth set-up, had been playing in the United States.
