Ebbsfleet boss Liam Daish wants to keep striker Gozie Ugwu at Stonebridge Road.
The 18-year-old on-loan Reading striker is due to complete his spell after the Blue Square Bet Premier trip to Gateshead on Saturday and the Ebbsfleet boss is looking to extend it.
Ugwu (pictured) joined the club at the beginning of last month but had to wait two weeks due to the cold snap before making his debut in the FA Trophy defeat at York.
He scored one and made two others in the 3-2 win at Bath and netted again in the defeat against Southport last week.
Daish said: "We would like to keep him and Reading have been pleased with his progress."
Fleet’s other loan signing, Charlton defender Yado Mambo, looks set to be out for at least a fortnight after suffering a hamstring injury against Southport, so Ross Smith will keep his place.
Daish is expecting another tough hurdle on the road against Gateshead.
He said: "They are a team trying to stay in the play-offs and have a good striker in John Shaw who has scored a lot of goals at this level."
