A man brought back to the UK after he was arrested on a European warrant will stand trial accused of attempted murder next year.
Sergej Kiseliov is alleged to have inflicted eight stab wounds to Edgars Petrovs at a home in Northfleet on October 16 last year.
Mr Petrovs was treated for puncture wounds to his lower back and upper right arm, and others to his legs and buttocks.
Kesiliov, 21, afterwards returned to his home country of Lithuania and was arrested on a European warrant.
Prosecutor Don Ramble said the immediate aftermath of the incident was captured on a police officer's body-worn camera.
Appearing at Maidstone Crown Court by TV link with Elmley Prison on Tuesday, Kesliov, of Ebbsfleet Court, High Street, Northfleet, denied attempted murder and an alternative charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He will stand trial on May 7 next year. Judge Philip St John-Stevens refused a bail application.
