Lucky escape in flat fire

OCCUPANTS of a flat in Wallis Park, Northfleet, had a lucky escape after a fire started in their lounge.

Two pumps from Thames-side fire station, and one from Swanscombe, were sent to the blaze in a third floor flat on Saturday at 2.47pm.

It took them two hours to put the fire out and make the flat safe.
