A main road is closed in both directions after a van crashed into several parked cars.

Police were called to the incident on the A226 Rochester Road, Gravesend just after 5am this morning.

The road is currently blocked near the junction with Thong Lane while the incident is dealt with.

There are reports of delays as traffic moves slowly due to the incident.

No serious injuries were reported, including to the driver of the van who is “shaken up” but by the incident which was described as a “simple accident”.

The ambulance service has been contacted for a comment.
