Police say a man arrested yesterday is being questioned about four suspected armed robberies.
They arrested the 28-year-old him at Elm Avenue, Chatham, following alleged armed raids on a Co-op store in Pattens Lane, Chatham, on Tuesday, and one the next day at William Hill bookmakers in Ordnance Street.
Police have now revealed they are also questioning him over a robbery at the Karson’s Pharmacy, on City Way, Rochester at about 5.30pm yesterday.
Officers were called to shop after it was reported a man had threatened staff with what is believed to have been a small hand gun, before leaving with a small amount of cash.
The police helicopter helped locate the man in an alleyway in Elm Road, and detectives revealed their inquiries are also focusing on a robbery at the For Girlys shop in Stone Street, Gravesend on Tuesday.
The man, who is from Chatham, is still being questioned by detectives today.
During their investigations officers put letters thorough people’s doors in the area asking them to look for items he may have dropped during his arrest.
It is believed all those items have now been recovered.
